The Evolution of Breaking Up

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Carol Ann Culbert Johnson A relationship is the most difficult avenue to pursue in the form of a marriage or just a plain old relationship. We meet someone, and we think he might be the one, our soul mate. That is definitely the mistake we make about someone being our soul mate. Only God is our soul mate and those are the relevant facts. If you think a male or female is your mate, then youre barking up the wrong tree. Ive learned the hard way that breaking up is very hard to do. We all contemplate in meeting someone and we end up being with that person for over a year is a prime example. We have our ups and downs, but all in all the relationship is working out. We never find him/her in a compromising position, so we believe that everything is going to be fine. We might just get engaged to this person, or we might just skip the engagement and end up getting married. Now that would be nice. No, thank you very much. If youre on the same page with this male or female then the two of you want the same things in life. At intervals we find ourselves on the wrong page. I even thought I was on the right page with a man, but it turned out that he was playing me for a fool, and the woman he was with was also being played for a fool. 1. How can a woman even go about trusting a man? 2. How can a man trust a woman? 3. If a woman is faithful to a man, and hes not faithful to her, should the woman move on? 4. If a man is faithful to a woman, and shes not faithful to him, should the man move on? 5. Why should we both fall in love? 6. Is there such a thing as a faithful human being? These are questions Id really like an answer too. Im confused and baffled by the concepts of what a man thinks a relationship is. Men usually walk up to me and begin a conversation. If the conversation is going right for both parties, then numbers are exchanged, and the courting begins. Is this a time to get happy or cautious? Cautious sounds like a sane plan to me. Why get over excited about someone giving you their phone number when you might find out all kinds of secrets? The stress isnt worth it and then some, thank you very much. Are we tired of dating in fear of breaking up? I spent a year and a half with someone, and we continued to talk from time to time. I got a rude awakening when I overheard a conversation he was having, but he didnt know I was listening. It woke me up, shocked the heck out of me, and made me sad. I knew our relationship was over, when he was telling his friend that he had met an older woman, and she wanted to move in with him. In the meantime this bastard was telling me that I was the only woman in his life, and he didnt have time to date anyone else because he was working two jobs. When I confronted the bastard he tried explaining or confessing, or just plain lying to me, and I bought into the game, of course. I knew the bastard was cheating on me because the signs were right in front of my face: We didnt talk that much. He didnt call that much. We didnt go anywhere. He had excuses after excuses. He wasnt into me. I knew the warning signs, but I just didnt want to give him up. The relationship was over, and deep down inside I knew this fact, but I just couldnt let myself be totally not into this man. He came through for me at intervals, but it wasnt a lot, believe me. When I heard him discussing another woman, I knew the relationship was over. I confronted him and he had the nerve to try and lie his way out of it. I told him that I didnt want to hear it, and also told him to have a nice life and move on. This relationship is finished, and its official. I just cant get over this fact. The breakup is truly hard to do in any given moment. I dont miss the man, but the relationship. Can you understand this fact? There was nothing in the man to miss, but just having a relationship is the grounds of depression. Im not in a relationship and I want to be in one. What am I going to do? Its the end of my life, and then some. Pleaze! Do not feel this way? I mean youre going to feel this way for a while because the pain of a breakup is just like a divorce, of any kind. Obviously you cared for the person, and maybe he cared for you. The dynamics of a man intercepts a man being faithful and those are the facts in a nutshell. I ask again, can a man be faithful to a woman? In my opinion, no, of course not, I frowned to myself. Theres not a man in the City of Chicago, or earth who will be faithful to just one woman so we need to come to these terms, and face the ugly facts. I thought about joining the ranks of cheating on my man because I wanted to justify my actions when I found out that he was cheating on me. I could pay him back for hurting me, of course. When will men learn that a relationship is what you make it, and if you cant be faithful, then you shouldnt be in one! The breakup is the most devastating feeling in the world and then some, and it takes women a lot longer to get over this madness. Even though the man is a bastard, and pain in the fanny, he had overcome some of his qualities, or we wouldnt have been in the relationship with him in the first place. Theres just no justification for pain and suffering and its going to happen when youre in a relationship for various reasons. Can you handle it? Right now Im in a grieving state of mind, and its not pretty. An acquaintance of mine informed me of a few things. She had been in a relationship for six years with someone, and now they were married, but she still believed that her husband was cheating on her. She finds the evidence, but shes not about to go down breakup madness and be alone. She doesnt have to work; she has three children by this man; a gorgeous big house, and an allowance. Why would she do something as crazy as breaking up with this man? The idea of getting a job is a nightmare on wheels. Its out of the question. Her solution is cheating on her man, also. She has had a few flings, and has moved on. If her husband wanted to play the cheating game, then he had to realize that she was also going to play the cheating game too. When he found out about her cheating, he wasnt thrilled, but he stopped his deceitful and hurtful tendencies for a while. When she sees that hes repeating the same pattern, then she joins the game again. I think its lousy to play these games, but what choice does she have? Men will cheat, and if you cant go along with the program, then you should be alone for the duration of your life.I think Ill be alone for a while, and nurse my breaking up with this man. I dont think Im going to get right back into the game for a while because I think I need a break from the hassles of breaking up, and trying to get into another relationship when it might fall flat on my face again. I just dont have the energy. You might be saying around this time that I am taking the easy way out, but I disagree because Im taking the only way out. Im preventing myself from going through the breaking up blues again. I just dont need the stress, thank you very much. When you really think about it after you get over the weeping and the pain, you realize that the bastard you just broke up with wasnt the man of your dreams; and you were better off without him in your life. The breakup was the best thing that ever happened to you, and you wont see this until your mourning period is up; time heals all wounds, and you finally move on. Remember that bastard didnt deserve you, and youre definitely better off because your mate is still right around that corner. You might not see him/her until you heal from the pain, but breaking up isnt so hard to do after all. Its a blessing in disguise. Oklahoma Sex Crimes Criminal Defense Lawyer

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Todd Going In the last 10 years the Internet has changed the world in ways that no one thought possible. Its unfortunate, but with the growing popularity of the Internet came a growth in Internet crime. The proliferation of Internet sex crimes have changes so rapidly that its created an entirely new mode of law enforcement. The web has given offenders access to children of all that was not possible until recently. The growth and increased access to technology such as instant messaging, email and web cams have created an unprecedented opportunity for direct access to children. Of course, lewd and/or indecent proposals can be construed at times when no intent was present. The possibilities of being charged with an Internet sex crime are everywhere. One growing example is the abuse or neglect of a child. This is a charge where prosecutors are saying that the defendants have engaged in conduct that sexually exploits a minor. Another common offense lately is indecent exposure/indecent exhibitions or obscene writings or pictures because technology has allowed for much easier generation of materials that are deemed illegal under traditional laws. Finally allegations of lewd or indecent proposals to a child under 16 are appearing more and more often. Sometimes these lewd or indecent proposals can come when there is no intent present. If youve been charged with a sex crime in Oklahoma you are not alone. It is very important that you contact a professional Oklahoma sex crime attorney to help you understand your rights during this long and complicated legal process. Garden Tractors For Gardeners

Monday, January 28th, 2008

By Andrew Caxton Garden Tractors: A Useful Tool For Gardeners Looking at the historical development of tractors, the piece that follows is aimed at non-professional gardeners looking for useful tips on how to select the right tractor to maintain their garden, how to operate it safely and save fuel. The Early Days Steam engine garden tractors first appeared in the late 1800s, followed just before World War I by diesel engines. They were soon found of great use in farms by making labor-intensive tasks such as digging and moving soil significantly easier. Choosing the Right Garden Tractor For Your Plot The model you chose mostly depend on the size of the plot you are looking at cultivating and maintaining with it. A small tiller with around 2 to 3 HP would be fine for a plot of lass than an acre, but you may want to invest in a more powerful machine of 15 to 20 HP for anything bigger than 5 acres, especially if you intend to move large rocks with it. If you can get a contractor to remove the stones as a one-off job a smaller tractor may be fine for general garden upkeep. Operating Your Tractor Safely It is essential to follow a few easy safety rule to avoid accidents as even a minor mishap could make it difficult for you to get help. The tractor should always be purposefully designed for the tasks you are using it for, and well maintained. Always wear your seat belt to be protected though it wont help much if the tractor ends up upside down. Check out the route on foot first for possible problems especially if you are planning to drive fully loaded on an unfamiliar path for any significant distance. Always remain focused on what you are doing, and keep your eyes firmly on the job. Dont EVER give a ride to anyone on a garden tractor. Check that the tractor is stable when in parked position, and always use the hand brake if there is a chance its own weight could cause it to move. How to Save Fuel Always keep your tractor in well-maintained condition. The tractor should be serviced on a regular basis to ensure the fuel filters are changed and the injectors clean. The use of fuel additive may help lower the servicing frequency. Air filters should also be kept cleaned and replaced at intervals as like fuel filters they have a significant effect on fuel efficiency. Finally the tractor should not be made to carry a greater load than that it is designed for. Women Aren’t The Only Ones Concerned About Skincare And Preventing Wrinkles

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

By Gregg Hall How many times have you been told that beauty is only skin deep? You hear that a lot from older people who tell you that you should concentrate on inner beauty as opposed to the outer. I’m sure that that’s true, and all of my friends know that I am a kind gentle person, who is spiritual and always ready, willing and able to help those in need. That does not make me feel better when I look in the mirror and see, “laugh lines” around my mouth. Trust me, I’m not laughing. Women think they are the only ones that despise the signs of aging that begins to appear on our faces as we get older. I’ve had countless women say to me that men get more distinguished looking as they age. Yeah, right. Leave it to a woman to be self centered enough that she thinks aging is all about her. I have no shame when it comes to trying to stop age from making a life long appearance on me. I happily dye my beard to make myself look 10 years younger. I shaved my head a few years ago and instantly took years off and found out that women loved it! My wife likes it and so do I. You can go ahead and call me a wuss if you like, but I have no problem with going to my wife for advice on preserving my youthful look. You know the old saying, behind every good man, there’s a good woman and my wife has proven this to be the case. Some of the advice she has given me, I’m sure has contributed to my hunky looks. We both strive to eat nutritious foods, since a lack of proper nutrients will go a long way to advance the appearance of age. Neither one of us leaves the house without putting on plenty of sun block. We both play tennis and with the sun beating down on our faces, we know that it can dry out our skin and cause a lot of damage, the worst of which could be skin cancer. A lot of people are careful to put on sun block before heading outside, but many just apply it once before leaving the home. They don’t think about how sweating may reduce the effectiveness to nothing. They also might not realize that they need lip protection as well. My wife wears a lipstick that has a sun block in it; I have found a lip balm that gives the same benefit. We also drink lots of water, even when we are not playing tennis. Without the proper hydration, the skin can wrinkle even faster. It doesn’t hurt to put down the beer can and have an icy cold glass of water instead. The next time you macho men get annoyed because your wife turned her head to look at the hunk jogging down the street, remember that hunk was probably me. Alternative Medicine Today

Friday, January 25th, 2008

By Tommy Thompson Medicinal herbs are considered one of the best discoveries in the world, and this is apparently due to the fact that they are so advantageous and create such positive outcomes. Although the high technology approaches of conventional medicine are preferred for acute sickness treatment and emergency care, herbal medicine is more convenient for dealing with continual ailments. Very respected physicians have promoted the benefits of alternative or complementary medicines. For centuries human beings have used nature herbs to improve over all health and well being. The use of herbs by various civilizations is extensively documented. Herbal usage has changed little over centuries passed, giving way to a few changes such as herb supplementation and new discoveries of plants while retaining its medicinal and culinary purpose. Because of its systematic approach and clinical effectiveness it has for centuries had a very great influence on the theory and practice of medicine in the East, and more recently has grown rapidly in popularity in the West. Chinese herbal medicines have been used to help to treat: hepatitis and HIV; chronic fatigue syndromes, whether with a background of viral infection or in other situations as well; respiratory conditions, as well as asthma, bronchitis, and never-ending coughs, including allergic and perennial rhinitis and sinusitis; rheumatological conditions, such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis; urinary conditions such as continual cystitis; diabetes, including both treatment and prevention; and even psychological problems such as depression and anxiety. Chinese herbal medicine is one of the great herbal systems of the world, with an unbroken tradition going back to the 3rd century BC. Herbs should not be used as the primary source of medical care but as a complement to other health remedies recommended by a doctor. Herbs are milder then traditional medications and it may take longer to show results however, you must not interrupt a treatment for any reason, as you will lose all its benefits. Start learning about organic herbs today and you will discover a world that will help you keep wholesome and happy. Natural IBS Treatment With Traditional Chinese Medicine

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

By Sandra Kim Leong Other than conventional western medicine, there are various options available to you if you wish to seek for a natural IBS treatment. One such healing system for IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome is Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM is based on a holistic approach. Thus, a complete and proper diagnosis involves an analysis of parts of your body, other than your abdominal area. For instance, your practitioner may check your tongue to check for coating. He needs to do this to determine that if the coating on your tongue is related to your IBS systems. If so, he may conclude that there is too much heat is being produced in your body. You may experience different IBS symptoms and so each symptom may be telling of a different ailing part of your body. When you experience any pain or discomfort as in the symptoms for IBS, TCM hypothesizes that your body is not in balance. TCM uses a variety of different natural IBS treatment methods to correct the imbalance. Chinese herbal medicine is one such method. Specific herbs are prescribed to treat specific symptoms that you are experiencing and to aid the body in healing. For example, if you experience bloating, then the herb that will be recommended to you is one that can help relieve the bloating. If your TCM practitioner finds that you are too heaty, he will prescribe you herbs that cool your body system. TCM herbs originate from China and therefore cannot be found elsewhere in the world. However, TCM herbs can be used on just about looking for a natural IBS treatment. An experienced TCM practitioner would be well versed about the herbs that can be used for your IBS treatment. However, as not all herbs for IBS treatment may be suitable, he will have to make sure that he recommends the right ones for your case. You will probably need to consume the herbal concoction a few times before you start experiencing results. As in most natural treatments, TCM does require time for healing to take place. Acupuncture is another natural IBS treatment that is part of TCM. Acupuncture for healing is fast becoming popular in the west as well. Acupuncture targets specific meridian points that run from elsewhere in your body to the abdominal area where you are experiencing the painful bloating symptoms. The energy flow in your meridian system is said to be blocked causing you to experience the symptoms. Acupuncture with the use and manipulation of thin needles is used to unblock the energy flow. TCM practitioners highly recommend acupuncture as an effective way to treating your IBS symptoms. Then, there are also TCM exercises like tai chi or qigong that you can take on for relaxation and to still your mind. This helps to improve your overall well being. Using TCM as a natural IBS treatment option is a good idea. Do however ensure that you get proper referrals for a good TCM practitioner before seeking consultation. Marriage Today, Permanent Commitment or Temporary Convenience

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

By Sergio Ferreira The statistics dont lie when they show that most of todays weddings have become a social event for the guests and a temporary convenience for the newlyweds. According to the recent evidence of social and scientific studies, an increasing number of children will experiment a family breakup two or even three times during their childhood. While some time ago divorce was considered uncommon, today has turned out to be something completely normal. Nowadays, the words till death do us part pronounced by couples joining in marriage before a priest or minister dont seem to represent the seriousness, importance and commitment they clearly state. If we want to support and improve the marriage institution that is weakening, we must prepare ourselves as spouses and parents and at the same time, help future generations prepare themselves in the same manner before accepting this enormous responsibility. We must try to offer assistance, information and guidance to those loved ones considering a separation. If we are able to avoid divorces, well all be better off, especially our children who after all, are the innocent victims. Let us be part of the solution and not part of the problem. How to Handle Difficult Interview Questions

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

By Laura Adams You are in the middle of an important interview and are confident that you are doing an excellent job of presenting your skills and qualifications for the position. The interviewer asks the next question and its a difficult one. You didnt see this question coming and have no idea to answer it. Words catch in your mouth. You start to sweat as your illustrious visions of landing your dream job are rapidly spiraling away at a breakneck speed. What do you do? For starters, the best offense is a good defense. Preparing for an interview in advance is the best way to ensure that you will be at your peak performance when the time comes to answer the question Why should you get this job?. Compile a list of interview questions, both general questions and those that are job-specific, that you could potentially be asked. Then practice answering all of the questions. It may be necessary to practice some questions several times until you can clearly present a solid answer. A good rule of thumb is to practice until you are no longer uncomfortable with the question itself or your resulting answer. Tempting as it may be to dismiss more straightforward questions, such as Tell me about yourself, you should rehearse your answer to every question. Oftentimes job applicants get so caught up in preparing for the tough questions, that they neglect the ones they perceive to be the easier ones. As a result, they are ill-prepared to answer basic questions and stumble in their answers. It would be impossible to think of and practice every question you could be asked, so you will inevitably run across some questions during the interview process that you hadnt thought of previously. When this happens, the first thing to do is take a deep breath. Repeat the question to yourself, either in your head or aloud to the interviewer, to ensure that you have heard the question correctly. Then use your practice sessions to draw correlations between this question and others you have practiced. Is this new question a variation of one you have answered before? Is it similar to any other question? If you can draw a parallel to questions you are already comfortable with, then the new question will not appear so daunting. Another good tactic is to break the question into smaller components so that you can take it bit by bit. This is especially useful for multi-part questions. For example, imagine you are asked: Tell me about a time when you found yourself at odds with a team member. What were the circumstances and how did you handle the confrontation. The first thing to do is break this into two parts: (1) provide an example of a team member confrontation, and (2) how did the confrontation get resolved. When answering this question, focus entirely on the first part initially. Set the stage for the conflict that arose, giving the interviewer all of the necessary details. Once this is done, you can then move onto the next part, which is detailing how the conflict was resolved. This is truly the meat of the question. The interviewer is more interested in hearing about how you handle conflict and stressful situations than the actual specifics of the conflict itself. So dont skimp on the second part - the resolution. This pattern is true of a majority of multi-part questions: one section of the answer is merely the opportunity to set the stage for the other, more pertinent part(s) of the question. If you are asked a question you dont know the answer to, it is often better to admit that are unsure of the answer than to try and buffalo your way though an answer. Most interviewers are highly experienced at recognizing BS answers and can easily pick up that you making stuff up. If this happens, they will either call you on the table about your fake answer or write you off a being a fraud neither of these is going to help you land a job. An appropriate response would be to admit that you do not have an answer for the question, but that you would like to do some research at the conclusion of the interview so that you have this knowledge for future reference. Such an answer not only shows integrity, but it also shows that you are not adverse to expanding your learning and are willing to take the extra effort necessary to keep your skills sharp. A few other helpful hints for answering difficult questions: It is okay to ask the interviewer to repeat the question if you didnt hear it the first time or if it is a long multi-part question. It is also okay to ask the interviewer for clarification if the question is unclear. Never volunteer personal information that is not job-related. Try to always turn negatives into positives. For example, when asked about your weaknesses, demonstrate how this weakness can also be an asset in other areas. Relax! Interviewing is a learning process and you will get stronger each time you interview for a potential position. So if an interview goes bad, rather than dwell on it, identify where things went wrong and work on correcting those areas so that you can perform better in your next interview.
